About The Sports Caddy

 A very long time ago in a faraway galaxy...okay, maybe not that long ago but at least 25 years ago HOCKEY and BASEBALL POKER were born!  

This was certainly before the internet and for those that remember the early days of Fantasy Football when scoring had to wait until Monday morning when the newspaper came and points were computed by hand from the box-scores.  Oh, the good ole days!  

 I would consider myself, my family and my friends as avid sports fans.  We love supporting our local teams and have done so forever!  We have also enjoyed competing against one another whenever possible.  So, when the Colorado Rockies baseball franchise began in 1991, we immediately became season ticket holders and attended games.  After a couple of years, we had run the course of playing typical ballpark games like "mound-ball" and "pass-the-hat."  It was time for something new; something different; something REALLY fun!!!  So, in 1994, I created and started playing BASEBALL POKER...a game within the game!    

 That year was a work in progress for BASEBALL POKER.  I couldn't even begin to tell you how many rules and scoring changes there were.  But I can tell you that when we played, it was just a matter of time before everyone in our section wanted to know what we were up to and how they could participate!  It was at this point that I knew my "Poker" game could branch out into other sports.  

 The following year, 1995, HOCKEY POKER was introduced because the Quebec Nordiques moved to Colorado and became the Colorado Avalanche!  And what great early years the Avalanche franchise gave us...Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Patrick Roy...thanks for the Stanley Cups boys!
